Personal Statement

Before becoming a physician, I worked in consulting in New York City, developing strategies to improve access to primary care and strengthen care delivery systems. While this work deepened my understanding of the healthcare system, it was my own experiences as a patient that revealed both the limitations of conventional models and the transformative potential of Integrative Medicine. These experiences ultimately inspired me to transition my career and become an Integrative Medicine physician, where I could unite the science of medicine with the art of healing that I had experienced first-hand.

I am passionate about partnering with patients to better understand the comprehensive dynamics of their life- physical, psychological, environmental, social, and spiritual, and how they impact their health and wellbeing. In my practice, I integrate modern medicine with evidence-based complementary modalities such as nutrition, mindfulness, osteopathic manipulation, acupuncture, and lifestyle to curate a personalized and sustainable treatment plan for each patient. I aim to address the root causes of illness, restore balance, and support the body’s innate ability to heal and help my patients improve their livelihood, vitality, and confidence in their own health journey.

Dr. Isono cares for patients across the lifespan and have special interests in gastrointestinal health and motility disorders, hormonal and metabolic balance, immune and inflammatory conditions, stress and fatigue, and the mind-body connection.
